Get Ready, Polar Prowl Athletes!

☀️ Be Prepared

  • Trail Alert: If there is precipitation before the race, there may be ice on the course in the occasional shaded spot. Make sure to pay attention to the trail conditions report on Friday and in the athlete briefing just before your start.
  • Trail Conditions: Course marked Friday afternoon; condition updates posted afterwards on socials.

🎟️ Packet Pickup

  • Early Pickup: Thursday, 4:30–6:30PM @ Arvada Triathalon Company
  • Race Morning: Opens at 8:15AM 🪪 No ID needed—just names!
  • Packet Pickup Cut-off Time (no exceptions): ‼️ Late arrivals must downgrade or won’t be allowed on course with a bib.
    • Half: 8:50AM
    • 10K: 9:00AM
    • 5K: 9:10AM

      • Important reminder for our All-Out veterans: The Polar Prowl 5K and 10K schedule is earlier than our other events. Please double-check your arrival time to ensure you don't miss a minute of the action or your start time!

📍 Venue & Parking

  • Location: Stenger Sports Complex, 11200 W 58th Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 🎯 west end of parking lot--enter at Quali St & 58th Ave 👉 Click for directions
  • Parking: There’s plenty of open parking on-site  🕐 PARKING ALERT: The lot gates will be locked at 1:00 PM sharp, or once the last athlete departs. Please ensure your vehicle is removed from the Stenger Sports Complex by that time!
  • Waling to the venue: Make sure you stay outside of the cones and discs marking the running path.
  • Spectator-friendly: there is a spot just 0.2 mi from the venue that spectators can cheer on their athlete multiple times. 👉 Click for details

🎉 Pre-Race Highlights

  • Venue & Expo Open: 8:15AM
  • Penguin Costume Contest: Get all spirited up and snap a photo at the awards tent pre-race with our official photographer. Winner(s) of a discount for a future All-Out event will be emailed post-event!
  • Gear Check: Next to packet pickup. Dropped items on course and in the venue are returned to lost & found at the gear check.
  • Toilets: East end of venue. Accessible options available.
  • Expo Access: Open pre- and post-race—wellness, and surprises await!
  • On-Site Coffee: The Bad Rabbit Coffee Caravan will be at the event for all your caffeine needs! Stop by their mobile setup to purchase a drink.

📛 Bib & Start Line Info

  • Bib Guidelines: Wear on outermost layer, horizontal, and visible.
  • Start Line Etiquette: ⏱️ Fast runners up front 🚶 Walkers toward the back 
  • Chip Timing: Your time starts when you cross the line.
  • Start Window: ‼️ Late starters must downgrade or won’t be allowed on course with a bib.
    • Half: 9:00–9:05AM
    • 10K: 9:10-9:15AM
    • 5K: 9:20-9:25AM

      • We're repeating this important reminder for our All-Out veterans: The Polar Prowl 5K and 10K schedule is earlier than our other events. Please double-check your arrival time to ensure you don't miss your start time!

🛡️ On-Course Safety

  • Fake Coyotes on Site: Don't let the "wildlife" startle you—the coyote figures in the fields are decoys used by the Parks Department to scare away geese at the complex.
  • Trail Etiquette: Be courteous on these shared trails—and watch out for fast-moving cyclists.
  • Running with Dogs: Short leashes only. Dog bowls at aid stations + treats from Bougie Tailz at the meal tent!
  • Bib Visibility = Safety: Keep your bib front-facing and visible at all times for timing and photos.
  • Course Knowledge = Confidence: This course is quite straight with few turns, but know your route and aid station layout 🔗 here
  • Drop Those Layers: Any items dropped at your first pass of Aid 1 will be whisked back to gear check before you finish. Any items dropped at other aid stations will be brought back to gear check at the end of the event. Please only drop items at aid stations.

🚦 Directional Safety

  • ✅ Only follow instructions from volunteers wearing bright green All-Out vests.
  • 🟩 Only turn when signs tell you to—no guessing or detours.
  • 🟩 Look for:
    • Bright green signs with blue arrows
    • Bright green tape on the ground
  • 🚫 Orange cones = wrong way. Don’t pass, hop, or detour around them.

  • 10K: 10:30AM
  • Half: 10:30AM (overall), 11:00AM (division)
  • If you win one of the overall placements for your distance, you must stay for the awards ceremony to receive your prize(s)

  • Live Results: Searchable online throughout the day. Don't forget, you can use your results to qualify for a BolderBoulder qualifying wave!
  • Free Race Photos: Posted by Tuesday 7PM—unlimited free downloads!
